DESCRIPTION:During EPIC 2025\, we will explore what it means to have Strong Connections through Intertwining Hope with topics that explore how to have Intertwining Hope in God and Intertwining Hope with each other. \nThis event is open to all people in the Virginia Synod and will feature times of worship and large-group presentations as well as small-group breakout sessions led by members of the Office of the Bishop Staff and local leaders from each hosting area. SUMMARY:Lost and Found
DESCRIPTION:Lost and Found is our annual faith-sharing retreat for 7th and 8th graders and their adult advisors. Our 2025 event will take place Friday\, November 21st through Sunday\, November 23rd at Eagle Eyrie Conference Center in Lynchburg. \nThe early registration discount ends October 27\, 2025!  \nClick here to download a .pdf registration form to print\, complete\, and return by mail for Lost and Found 2025. \nClick here to register online for Lost and Found 2025. There is a link to the online payment option in the “registration received” notice after you submit the form. \nIf you would like to pay all or part of the registration fee online\, go to the Virginia Synod website\, click on “Give” and scroll down to Lost and Found or click here to go directly to the Vanco payment page for Lost and Found. \nLost and Found includes Large Group gatherings with lots of singing\, energy\, comedy\, worship and a presentation on our event theme. After each Large Group gathering\, participants gather in a Small Group. These are made up of a handful of youth and a couple adult leaders. In small groups\, participants will get to know other Lutheran youth from Virginia and discuss life and faith as well as other topics that arise throughout the weekend. \nOn Saturday afternoon there is large chunk of Free Time during which participants can continue to build relationships\, enjoy outdoor recreation\, visit the Eagle Eyrie coffee shop and ice cream parlor\, and so much more. Our annual Talent Show will also take place during this time\, it’s a great time to support your friends as well as show off a unique talent. \nIn the evenings you will relax in your Cottage and gather with other youth and adults from your congregation and other congregations to talk about how the weekend is going. \nHere’s a little video that gives you a first-hand look at what happens at Lost and Found! \nOptions for payment: If you register online\, payment through the “Give” tab at the synod website (www.vasynod.org) is required at time of registration. If you are mailing in a paper registration form\, either pay online at the “Give” tab or include a check according to the instructions on the form. \nSomething to note: For those who have been to 7th Day\, our overnight retreat for 5th and 6th graders\, this event is a little bit different. Lost and Found is more of a discussion-based event\, where participants get to know their small groups through games\, activities\, readings\, and more to better understand their faith as it relates to the theme of the event. SUMMARY:Winter Celebration
DESCRIPTION:Winter Celebration is our annual weekend faith sharing retreat for youth in 9th through 12th grade and their adult advisors. \nIn 2026\, Winter Celebration will be Jan. 23-25 (Friday evening to Sunday noon) at Eagle Eyrie Conference Center in Lynchburg.  \nWe have Large Group gatherings that consist of singing\, energy\, comedy\, worship and Planning Group presentations on our event theme. After each Large Group gathering\, participants will gather in Small Groups. These are made up of a handful of youth and a team of adult leaders. In small groups\, participants will get to know youth from other Lutheran congregations in Virginia and discuss life and faith\, as well as other topics that arise throughout the weekend. \nOn Saturday afternoon there is large chunk of Free Time during which participants can continue to build relationships\, enjoy outdoor recreation\, visit the Eagle Eyrie coffee shop and ice cream parlor\, and so much more.
