Apache Stronghold has called on a multifaith movement of prayer and action next week as the court case seeking to block a copper mining operation on their sacred lands at Oak Flat, Arizona. This case comes before the 9th Circuit Court (in Pasadena) on Tuesday, March 21, at 10am PT (1pm ET). They have asked faith siblings to join them as One Drum, One Prayer, One Circle in praying with them now and next week.
The Virginia Synod Council joined our voices in prayer this morning at the encouragement of Deacon Emily Edmonds as part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to learn more, do more, and realize healing and justice for the Indigenous peoples whose lands we now occupy.
