Truth in Love Workshop #2: Speaking in Love
Living in community is based on making and maintaining authentic connections. And authentic connections are made through healthy communication. Whether a community is in the midst of conflict or is just going about its day-to-day business, it is important to communicate well and to speak in love. This workshop will begin with assisting participants to know themselves better, which will allow them to enter into “compassionate communication,” leading to the formation of authentic connections.
Being heard, understood, and accepted is one of the most powerful gifts that we can grant to others – which we explored in the first Truth in Love Workshop. Having others hear, understand, and accept you and your point of view is also a vital component to healthy communication and conflict management. With this in mind we will be focusing on Emotional Intelligence and Nonviolent Communication which are needed tools to speak to one another in love.
These workshops will be held digitally, and an in-person option will be available after Easter. The cost per person is $25. There is a discount for multiple participants from the same congregation. Participation in Workshop #1 is not required to participate in Workshop #2. These workshops are open to rostered ministers and laypersons.
